Role Overview

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through the identification, development, and conversion of new business opportunities, while supporting the expansion of existing client relationships.

This role owns pipeline development, supports strategic pursuits, and ensures opportunities are effectively progressed from identification through to conversion.

The role coordinates the operational delivery of business development activity, including proposals, lead generation, CRM management, client interactions, meetings, and event delivery.

Working across business development and marketing initiatives, the role supports cross‑functional collaboration, structured communication, and effective coordination of timelines, reporting, and operational delivery.

This role is suited to someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, professional environment and enjoys working across multiple stakeholders and priorities. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach are essential.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years’ experience in business development, sales, client services, or related roles within medical communications, healthcare, or pharmaceutical environments
  • Experience working on proposals, pitches, and client presentations
  • Commercially minded, with strong understanding of business development lifecycle and sales processes
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex updates and build strong relationships across levels
  • Experience creating and maintaining project plans, schedules, reports, and documentation
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems, opportunity tracking, pipeline reporting processes, and project management tools
  • Awareness of medical communications services, agency structures, and client engagement models
