A large UK professional services organisation is building out its ML Engineering capability and hiring a Lead Machine Learning Engineer to help shape the function from the ground up.
This is a hands-on role focused on production AI systems, MLOps, cloud ML infrastructure, and enterprise GenAI deployment. Current projects include large-scale document AI workflows using LLMs to process and structure complex documents.
Key responsibilities:
• Productionise LLM and GenAI systems
• Build scalable MLOps and deployment pipelines
• Develop AI infrastructure in Azure and Databricks
• Create data pipelines for enterprise AI workflows
• Work closely with DS teams and business stakeholders
Key details:
• £90k + ~10% bonus
• Essentially remote across the UK
• 35-hour week with flexible hours
• Stack: Azure ML, AI Foundry, Databricks, Python, FastAPI
• 12-month FTC with strong chance of permanent conversion
• Cannot sponsor
Requirements:
• 7+ years across MLE/MLOps/Data Engineering/SWE
• Production ML deployment experience
• LLM/NLP/GenAI exposure
• Strong stakeholder management and independent delivery skills
