You will work outdoors in all weather conditions and will be expected to interact professionally with members of the public.Key ResponsibilitiesDrive and take responsibility for allocated service vehiclesComplete routine vehicle checks, including oil, water and cleaning checksTransport goods, equipment and personnel as requiredAct as team leader for the assigned crewReport public safety issues, defects or environmental concernsSupport sweeping, litter collection, weed removal and cleansing of public spacesEmpty and inspect litter bins as requiredAssist with refuse collection duties when requiredOperate equipment and apparatus connected with the allocated vehicleUse radio telecommunications equipment in line with road traffic legislationComplete documentation linked to the duties of the postWork in line with health and safety legislation, Council policies and proceduresParticipate in relevant training and developmentSupport the positive reputation of Newry, Mourne and Down District CouncilEssential CriteriaApplicants must have:A current valid driving licence, minimum Category C1A current valid driving licence, minimum Category C1 + EA current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence, CPCAt least 1 year of previous experience driving vehicles requiring a Category C1 licenceExperience of customer care in a front-line service environmentKnowledge of health and safety requirements linked to operating C1 category vehiclesAbility to work outside normal working hours when required…
