Training Programme Director – Radiology (East)

An outstanding individual is sought to fulfil the role of Training Programme Director – Radiology (East). The post will be available on the basis of a secondment arrangement to NHS England, remunerated by Education Management Contribution (EMC) in line with TPD sessional payments. Salary: £10,000 per PA – 1PA (4 hours per week). All work undertaken is to be incorporated into the Consultant Job Plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and lead the delivery of a wide range of functions in partnership with the Head of School, aligned to the NHS England mandate.
  • Improve learner supervision, assessment and experience, engagement of faculty and ensure effective educational outcomes.
  • Drive whole workforce transformation and develop multi‑professional links, adopting innovative curriculum delivery and workforce well‑being strategies.
  • Collate an integrated workforce comprising individuals from a spectrum of professional and other backgrounds, reflecting changing service models.
  • Deliver high standards of education and training as defined by the General Medical Council and other national bodies for training posts and other educational programmes in Yorkshire and the Humber.
  • Commit to national vision, policies and processes for effective educational quality management.
  • Ensure objectives are met within budget and contribute to budget savings when required.
  • Ensure Code of Practice guidelines are met.
  • Provide accurate guidance to trainees on OOP/IDTs/LTFT/Acting up applications.

Commitments

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in our offices. The role is seconded through an Inter‑Authority Transfer (IAT) via the Electronic Staff Record (ESR), with the option to opt‑out at any stage.
