Senior Mechanical Engineer Building Services

Are you a senior Mechanical Engineer in Building Service Design and looking to work on some exciting projects? Do you want a contract role with variety?

You could work for a leading Building Services contractor, with a national presence with the following details:

Location: Liverpool (1x a week in the office)

Rate: Up to £50 per hour (Inside IR35)

Duration: 12 months +

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical design for major construction projects
• Produce high-quality designs, specifications, and technical solutions
• Work closely with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams
• Coordinate designs across disciplines (M&E, BIM, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and quality procedures
• Support cost planning, estimates, and pre‑construction activities
• Contribute to innovative and sustainable design solutions
• Support and mentor junior engineers where required

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
• CIBSE / IMechE member (or working towards Chartership)
• Strong experience in building services design (HVAC / MEP)
• Experience delivering medium to large‑scale projects
• Knowledge of BIM, Revit, and design coordination
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
