In this role, you’ll take ownership of procurement activity across the business, supporting manufacturing, project, and operational needs. You’ll be responsible for sourcing goods and services cost-effectively, strengthening supplier relationships, and ensuring the right materials and services are available when needed. This is a key role in helping JLE maximise buying power, protect project margins, and keep operations running efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing procurement strategies aligned with business objectives and that comply with company policies and regulations.
- Forecasting purchasing needs in line with project and operational demands.
- Sourcing, evaluating, and onboarding suppliers and subcontractors.
- Negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms.
- Managing end-to-end procurement processes, including RFQs, tenders, and purchase orders.
- Monitoring and reporting on contract performance, variations, and procurement spend.
- Supporting budgeting and financial planning.
- Working closely with project, finance, manufacturing, and operations teams.
- Helping build strong supplier and manufacturer partnerships across JLE and the broader group.
Qualifications
- Experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Background in electrical manufacturing, construction, electrical, or infrastructure.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Financial accountability and attention to detail.
- Experience using procurement systems and reporting tools, including Excel.
Desirable Skills
- Management, planning, and evaluation experience.
- Understanding of relevant standards and codes of practice.
- Contract training such as GC21 or AS/4000 Standard Minor works.
- OH&S training.
- 712 years’ experience in the trade or industry.
