Reed Finance is recruiting on behalf of a Glasgow based client for an experienced Financial Controller to join their finance function on a 6 month temporary basis. This role has been created to support the smooth running of the finance team during a significant period of change and transformation. You must be immediately available or have a low notice period to be considered.
This is a senior, hands-on role with group oversight, requiring a technically strong leader who can ensure robust financial control, accurate reporting and effective governance across a multi-entity environment.
Reporting to the Finance Director you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting and internal controls across the Group. You will lead the accounting teams, manage month-end and year-end close processes and act as a key business partner to Senior Leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in line with UK GAAP
- Lead, motivate and develop a large finance team, ensuring clear ownership of outputs and strong performance
- Establish and enforce strong financial governance and internal controls across the Group
- Partner with senior stakeholders to support budgeting, forecasting, business cases and strategic decision-making
- Oversee the use, optimisation and improvement of financial systems and reporting tools
- Maintain, review, and enhance accounting policies, procedures and internal control frameworks
About You
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
- Extensive experience in a senior accounting or controller role, ideally within a multi-entity or group environment
- Proven experience leading and developing finance teams through change
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with a deep understanding of UK GAAP
- Solid experience managing statutory audits and complex stakeholder relationships
- Excellent understanding of financial controls, compliance, and governance
- Immediately available or low notice period
