About the role
Burnley Group Practice is offering a 12‑month secondment to a senior management role focused on the Practice’s Quality Agenda. The role will be part-time, two days per week, and will involve line management of the Data & Quality Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Quality, QOF, Information Governance
- Deliver QOF and ensure all quality and service targets are met.
- Maintain high standards of data quality and manage data quality issues.
- Ensure compliance with Information Governance and data protection regulations.
- Ensure completion of the Data Security & Protection Toolkit (DPST).
- Lead the Patient Participation Group and monitor patient satisfaction.
- Underlie day‑to‑day management of estates, facilities, and equipment maintenance.
- Assist in the development, review and implementation of Practice policies and procedures.
- Respond to external data requests (e.g. SARS, Insurance Reports).
- Support the partnership and engage with the Primary Care Network (PCN) and local commissioners.
- Maintain ongoing CQC compliance and keep up to date with Primary Care developments.
- Provide support and advice to senior managers on organisational matters.
- Ensure staff are trained in Data Protection and Information Governance.
- Manage contracts and maintenance for Practice equipment, including PAT testing.
- Ensure IT data security, backup, and maintenance comply with legislation and the DSPT.
- Represent the Practice in meeting and promoting collaborative working with external organisations.
- Develop and deliver Practice Development plans with other senior managers.
- Prepare for and support audits, inspections, and quality reviews.
Experience
- Previous practice or healthcare management experience.
- Experience working in Primary Care.
- Experience in line managing staff.
- Experience in a multi‑disciplinary team setting.
Qualifications
- Good level of education with strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- IGPM accreditation.
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and EMIS clinical system.
- Understanding of NHS systems, policies and procedures, particularly the Quality agenda.
- Knowledge of local and national quality targets.
- Knowledge of the NHS 10‑year plan.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This role requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
