Overall Description
We’re looking for an Application’s Manager who is passionate about creating reliable, user‑focused technology that supports people across our global business. In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping how our applications work, feel, and evolve, balancing hands‑on configuration with collaboration and helping teams get the most from the tools they rely on every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Configuration & Support
- Configure, administer, and support a portfolio of SaaS and business applications
- Perform day‑to‑day application management activities including:
- User access and role configuration
- Workflow, rule, and form configuration
- Reporting and data extracts
- Troubleshooting application issues and errors
- Implement and manage system change process, including application governance design and execution
- Act as point of escalation for complex incidents and defects
- Coordinate fixes, patches, and upgrades with vendors and internal teams
- Application Implementation
- Lead and perform technical aspects of new business and SaaS applications
- Work with business stakeholders to define requirements, configuration needs, and success criteria
- Develop hands‑on application knowledge regarding configuration, including workflows, roles, integrations, and security settings
- Build and manage project plans and coordinate implementation activities with vendors, internal IT teams, and external partners
- Assist data migration, testing, release planning, and cutover activities
- Ensure new applications are implemented in line with security, compliance, and architectural standards
- Take ownership of post‑implementation business change management, ensuring a smooth transition into ongoing support and continuous improvement
- Service Ownership & Operational Management
- Own application availability, performance, and support processes
- Manage incidents, problems, and changes in line with IT service management processes
- Maintain application documentation, support procedures, and training / test scripts
- Monitor application health, usage, and service metrics
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with business users to understand requirements and pain points
- Translate operational needs into configuration changes or enhancement requests
- Provide clear communication on incidents, changes, releases, and improvements
- Vendor Management
- Support relationships with application vendors and support partners
- Raise and track vendor support tickets through to resolution
- Oversee licensing, renewals, and identify opportunities to optimise usage and cost
- Security, Access & Compliance
- Work closely with infrastructure and security teams to ensure applications are configured in line with security and data protection standards
- Manage role‑based access controls and approval workflows
- Support audits and compliance activities related to applications
- Continuous Improvement & Change
- Identify opportunities to improve usability, stability, and efficiency
- Champion and lead AI initiatives, and other innovative technologies, within the SaaS and business applications
- Contribute to the evolution and rationalisation of the application landscape
Essential Skills & Experience
- Degree in IT, Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent proven experience in a hands‑on application support or application management role
- Strong 5+ years of practical experience supporting and configuring SaaS applications
- Experience with user management, configuration, and functional support
- Solid understanding of application support and change processes
- Ability to engage effectively with both business users and technical teams
Desirable
- Experience supporting multiple applications across different business functions and countries
- Familiarity with identity and access management solutions (e.g. SSO, MFA)
- Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks (e.g. Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001)
- Experience working with third‑party vendors and support teams
- Exposure to application integrations and APIs
