About this Role
General Atlantic’s subsidiary, Actis, a leader in sustainable infrastructure investments, seeks a Senior Associate for their Sustainability team in London. The successful candidate will immerse themselves in every stage of the investment cycle, partnering with portfolio company management teams to boost sustainability performance and advise on sustainability opportunities. This role involves leading sustainability-focused investment due diligence, supporting decarbonization initiatives, and engaging with senior colleagues in international markets. Strong communication skills, especially in Spanish, are beneficial for this globally-focused position. The Senior Associate will play a key role in Actis’ reporting processes and may represent the firm at industry forums. They will need a balance of analytical, project management, and interpersonal skills to navigate complex investment environments effectively.
Responsibilities
- Leads complex due diligence workstreams across multiple technical areas with minimal supervision.
- Builds and manages external advisor relationships by sector and geography.
- Develops comprehensive Value Creation Plans (VCPs) aligned to commercial strategy and investment theses.
- Independently completes Actis Impact Score assessments with strong defensibility.
- Produces high-quality Investment Committee papers with limited edits required.
- Manages multiple concurrent deals and portfolio initiatives.
- Represents Actis at industry panels and technical forums as appropriate.
- Mentors Analysts and Associates formally and informally.
Requirements
- Strong practical experience in sustainability consulting or investment settings.
- Experience in sectors like energy, infrastructure, real estate, or digital infrastructure is advantageous.
- Prior exposure to private equity, asset management, or financial services.
- Spanish language fluency.
- Degree-level education in environmental or social sciences, development studies, or a related field.
- Strong project management skills, managing multiple workstreams concurrently.
- Ability to engage with and advise senior management teams on sustainability strategies.
