Job Description:

Role Overview

We are seeking a registered dietitian for a senior role within a community learning disability team at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT). This skilled post offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced LD dietitians and a multidisciplinary team that includes learning disability nurses, medics, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as an autonomous practitioner, advising on dietary management for a specialist caseload.
  • With appropriate postgraduate training, assess, treat, and manage own caseload of service users in the designated specialist area, obtaining support as necessary from senior colleagues.
  • Promote self‑management and prevention of nutritional problems, medical conditions and complications for service users, staff and carers.
  • Provide advice, training and support to other health and social care professionals.
  • Liaise with dietetic colleagues and other multidisciplinary teams including medical, nursing, catering and other health and social care professionals.

Qualifications

  • Dietetics degree
  • Registration with Health & Care Professions Council
  • Evidence of relevant CPD
  • Desirable: Membership of BDA

Knowledge & Skills

  • Good written communication
  • Good verbal communication
  • Good IT skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Able to recognise when to seek support
  • Demonstrates ability to reflect on practice with peers/clinical supervisor

Experience

  • Previous relevant experience working as a registered dietitian
  • Clinical experience with transferable skills to an LD caseload
