Overview
There has never been a more exciting time to join us and an opportunity has arisen for a talented and enthusiastic Assurance, Compliance & Asbestos Officer to play a key role within the Health Board. The post holder will be professionally and technically responsible for Health and Safety for Management of contractors activity and Estates and Asbestos compliance, reporting to the Estates Health and Safety and Asbestos Manager.
Responsibilities
- Undertake all aspects of Estates Health and Safety management including development of operational procedures and protocols.
- Conduct risk assessments and workplace inspections.
- Develop and deliver the Estates Health and Safety action plan.
- Produce the asbestos management plan and monitor its effectiveness.
- Conduct asbestos surveys and prepare specifications for tender/quotation of Health and Safety projects and asbestos removal.
- Review and prepare risk assessments and method statements.
- Challenge the activity of contractors and audit and update registers.
- Deliver Health and Safety/Asbestos awareness training and assist with other facility compliance matters.
- Undertake other duties as required.
- Note: The post holder will jointly undertake some duties with the Estates Health and Safety and Asbestos Manager, and will lead on certain responsibilities.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Desirable: ability to speak Welsh. Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
