Hinkley Point C (HPC) is the UK’s first new nuclear power station in over 20 years, featuring two EPR reactors that will generate 3.26 GW of secure, low‑carbon electricity for 60 years, enough to power around 6 million homes. Construction Delivery Manager
Support the delivery of a specific section of the works within the project. This role extends to all construction and related activities, reporting to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager. Key duties include logistics planning and implementation with the site‑wide logistics team, programming and planning, monitoring of authorities’ obligations and conditions, and client liaison.
Key Responsibilities
- Support contract partners in delivering works packages to enable efficient delivery of their section of works.
- Recommend temporary measures to mitigate safety or quality concerns, and take appropriate action to prevent cessation of works, including reviewing documents and conducting assurance audits.
- Monitor on‑site works and contribute to the construction daily report to ensure information is reported through the organisation to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager and escalation of issues via detailed reports.
- Proactively communicate and coordinate with site teams (H&S, contract, project controls, logistics) and Construction Delivery Managers to maintain good communication links and ensure activities are reported timely, including attending pre‑start briefings and supporting key message delivery to contractors.
- Attend PLOD/PLOW meetings with contractors, ensuring outputs are recorded and issued to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager.
- Undertake safety and assurance inspections that support the project HSPI’s.
- Ensure clear, two‑way communication with the Senior Construction Delivery Manager so all activity and issues are directed appropriately.
Education, Experience and Skills
- Experience and knowledge of construction sequencing, recovery plans, and resource allocation.
- Good understanding of the post holder’s obligations under CDM Regulations.
- Working knowledge in project delivery.
- Ability to write clear, concise, and meaningful reports.
- Motivates contract partners by building trust and understanding, actively seeking alternative views and opinions.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent vocational training and experience.
- SMSTS or IOSH qualification holder.
