As a service Engineer, you will work directly with customers to perform complex repairs and inspections of aircraft landing gear at customer facilities.
Responsibilities
- Disassembly and inspection of landing gear, with application of remedial action to enable final assembly, test and certification.
- Work in accordance with OEM instructions as required.
- Carry out complex repairs and inspections to aircraft landing gear at customer facilities.
- Communicate directly with customers to manage their expectations and provide excellent support.
- Provide onsite support as required, working as part of a workshop team.
- Carry out the recertification of landing gears, including disassembly, inspection, local repairs, bushing, assembly and test.
Qualifications
- Engineering Apprenticeship, plus 5 years’ experience in an aviation environment or equivalent.
- Previous experience of landing gear maintenance.
- Ability to interpret Component Maintenance Manuals, Technical Drawings & instructions.
- High level of dexterity with attention to detail.
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools including precision measuring equipment.
- Understanding of electrical circuits.
- Ability to travel at short notice to worldwide destinations, with no restrictions.
- Human Factors, risk management and working at height experience.
- UK driving licence.
- Willingness to obtain forklift truck & MEWP licences, and experience and confidence to work at heights.
- Medical fitness to travel frequently.
