Service Engineer

As a service Engineer, you will work directly with customers to perform complex repairs and inspections of aircraft landing gear at customer facilities.

Responsibilities

• Disassembly and inspection of landing gear, with application of remedial action to enable final assembly, test and certification.
• Work in accordance with OEM instructions as required.
• Carry out complex repairs and inspections to aircraft landing gear at customer facilities.
• Communicate directly with customers to manage their expectations and provide excellent support.
• Provide onsite support as required, working as part of a workshop team.
• Carry out the recertification of landing gears, including disassembly, inspection, local repairs, bushing, assembly and test.

Qualifications

• Engineering Apprenticeship, plus 5 years’ experience in an aviation environment or equivalent.
• Previous experience of landing gear maintenance.
• Ability to interpret Component Maintenance Manuals, Technical Drawings & instructions.
• High level of dexterity with attention to detail.
• Ability to use a variety of hand tools including precision measuring equipment.
• Understanding of electrical circuits.
• Ability to travel at short notice to worldwide destinations, with no restrictions.
• Human Factors, risk management and working at height experience.
• UK driving licence.
• Willingness to obtain forklift truck & MEWP licences, and experience and confidence to work at heights.
• Medical fitness to travel frequently.
