Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Field Based – Southampton

Salary & Benefits

Guaranteed Take‑home Pay before tax: £43,614.20 (Includes £40,314.20 salary, £1,300 shift allowance and an additional £2,000 paid in £500 increments every 3 months: January, April, July, October)

Average Earnings: Around £53,000 with on call & overtime (with plenty of opportunity to earn more)

Company Vehicle: New automatic van, personal use, paid fuel

Holiday Allowance: 25 + 8 days

Responsibilities

  • Work on a wide range of customer sites including pubs, stadiums, airports, hospitals, hotels and universities.
  • Electrical and mechanical maintenance
  • Breakdown diagnosis and repairs
  • Planned preventative maintenance
  • Installations and commissioning
  • Customer‑facing site work (quality service, not high‑volume call outs)

Qualifications & Skills

  • Solid electrical background with experience in fault finding and repairs.
  • Wiring / diagnostics (equipment‑based)
  • Planned preventative maintenance

Highly relevant backgrounds include

  • Catering Equipment Engineer / Commercial Kitchen Engineer
  • Coffee Machine Engineer
  • Bakery Equipment Engineer
  • Dishwasher / Warewash Engineer
  • Field Service Engineer / Multiskilled Engineer
  • Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Qualifications (flexible)

  • 17th or 18th Edition is useful, but strong hands‑on electrical fault‑finding experience on commercial equipment is acceptable.
  • Mechanical fitters with good electrical experience are also considered.

Training

  • 3 months structured training initially
  • Continued training over the next two years

Working Hours / Overtime

Mon‑Fri: 8am-5pm

Overtime paid at time and a half and double time

On‑call rota begins after 3 months training (typically one weekend every three weeks)

All on‑call work paid at overtime rates and door‑to‑door
