Service Technician
Location: Midlands Area
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 plus car allowance, bonus, travel compensation, private healthcare and pension

Our client is a global manufacturing company whose UK site is based in Surrey and their head office is in Germany. They are looking for a Service Technician with an electro‑mechanical degree or qualification and experience in the pharma or manufacturing/packaging industry. Training on the products will be at their main site in Germany. The role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8 hours per day, with overtime, overnight allowance, 1.5 bank holidays with a day in lieu, and 25 days holiday. The client also offers a company bonus scheme, medical insurance and a company car/car allowance.
Duties:
- Preparation, installation, startup, production support, maintenance, and repair of our machines.
- Support the assembly of equipment and acceptance testing (usually onsite at the customer).
- Train customers on the equipment as and when required.
- Identify potential equipment improvements.
- Provide telephone support to our customers.
- Work closely and communicate effectively with the Customer Service Department in the UK and Germany.
- Expected travel time for up to (Apply online only) days per year (mainly weekdays).
- Travel generally in the UK (Midlands area) and Ireland, but maybe also throughout the world.
Requirements:
- A Mechanical and Engineering qualification is essential – ideally from a packaging or assembly automation background.
- Previous solid experience within this field.
- A driver who is flexible and able to travel nationally and internationally.
- Good customer service skills.
- Creativity and inventiveness in the solution of complex requirements.
- Personal initiative and independent work.
- High communication and teamwork skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English language skills – essential.
- German language skills not essential but advantageous.
- Willingness to travel worldwide up to 150 days per year.
