Junior Quantity Surveyor
Salary: £25,000 – £32,000Location: Chesterfield
About the Role
Construo Recruitment is working in partnership with a growing construction contractor to recruit a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual at the beginning of their surveying career to gain hands‑on experience across a range of construction projects while developing their commercial and technical skills within a supportive environment.
The successful candidate will support the senior commercial team with the day‑to‑day financial management of projects from inception through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation
Support the commercial management of projects throughout the project lifecycle
Monitor project costs and identify potential cost‑saving opportunities
Assist with monthly valuations, variations, and final accounts
Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers regarding commercial matters
Maintain accurate financial and project records
Support senior Quantity Surveyors and the wider commercial team
Assist with procurement and subcontractor management activities
Requirements
Degree, HNC, or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Good communication and organisational abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
Knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates is essential
