Electrical Designer

Dartford, Kent£40,000 – £50,000 + PackageFull Time | Permanent

The Role

We’re working with a well‑established M&E contractor delivering commercial and industrial design & build projects, including high‑profile work within the film and TV sector.

They’re looking to bring in an Electrical Designer to support their growing design team. This is a hands‑on role focused on developing electrical designs, supporting tenders, and working closely with internal engineers and external stakeholders.

You’ll be working alongside an experienced MEP Design team with strong support and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical designs for commercial & industrial projects
  • Carry out cable calculations using Amtech ProDesign
  • Produce lighting designs using Dialux / Relux
  • Review drawings, specs, and tender documentationPrepare design risk assessments
  • Coordinate and review AutoCAD drawings
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and external designers
  • Support tender submissions from a design perspective
  • Provide technical support to site teams
  • Ensure compliance with H&S and quality standards

Requirements

  • Experience in electrical design within building services
  • Strong knowledge of Amtech ProDesign
  • Experience with Dialux / Relux lighting design
  • 18th Edition qualified with practical application knowledge
  • Experience using AutoCAD (2D)
  • Understanding of fire alarms, security, and lighting systems
  • Strong knowledge of CIBSE guidelines
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • C&G 2396 (Design, Erection & Verification)
  • NVQ Level 3 / C&G 2357 Electrical
  • Experience using Revit
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems
