Quantity Surveyor / Estimator (Fire Protection)

Location: Melton Mowbray

Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 per annum plus car allowance and bonus

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in a hybrid role covering estimating and quantity surveying within the passive fire protection industry.

Benefits

• Basic salary circa £40,000 – £50,000 per annum
• Car allowance circa £4k
• 20 days annual leave plus Christmas shutdown and bank holidays (31 in total)
• 8.30 am to 5 pm working hours (30 min break)
• Discretionary bonus up to 10% after 12 months employment
• 3% employee pension contributions

Job Role & Responsibilities

• Hybrid role covering estimating and quantity surveying
• Estimating duties: additional works on existing projects and new schemes; value engineering; costing off a schedule of rates; submit documentation/tenders to win work
• Quantity Surveying duties: commercial managing live schemes; work closely with Contracts Managers to keep projects within budget; provide monthly cost value reports; attend site meetings; complete final accounts; manage contractual QS side, identifying and resolving issues

Qualifications

• Proven history working as a Quantity Surveyor
• Experience either as a main contractor or specialist subcontractor in the fire protection sector preferred
• Preferably degree educated
• Good IT and numerical skills
• Full UK driving licence
