Maintenance Planner – Middlesbrough
Responsibilities
- Preparing, optimizing and controlling planned maintenance work to maximise safe plant availability and minimise reactive maintenance.
- Ensuring all maintenance activities are fully planned, resourced and scheduled using a structured look‑ahead process, enabling efficient execution by technicians and contractors.
- Driving maintenance predictability, backlog control and continuous improvement through effective use of CMMS and scheduling tools, supporting regulatory compliance within a high‑hazard COMAH environment.
- Developing fully detailed job plans and work packs that allow technicians to execute work without further clarification, reducing delays and reactive decision‑making in the field.
- Optimizing allocation of internal and contractor resources using forward scheduling and resource leveling to maximise productive maintenance hours.
- Liaising with third parties and other departments for planning of maintenance activities.
- Collaborating with maintenance and operations teams to identify and prioritise maintenance.
- Working with procurement to source and create purchase orders for consumables, spares and equipment.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years’ experience in maintenance planning within COMAH, O&G, chemical or heavy industrial environments.
- Experience using maintenance scheduling or project planning tools (e.g. Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent).
- Experience building resource‑loaded schedules and maintenance look‑ahead plans.
