Job Description:

Tenancy Sustainability Officer

Department: Housing Operations

Salary: £32,743 – £33,895 (pro‑rata)

Location: Leyland / Preston / wider North West (agile working)

Hours: 36.25 hours per week

Contract: Fixed Term – 6 months

About the Role

As a Tenancy Sustainability Officer, you work with customers to identify risks, develop support plans, and connect them with the right services to improve wellbeing and financial stability. This role focuses on supporting an influx of new‑build properties, ensuring tenants are set up for success from the start of their tenancy and have access to the right support to maintain their home long term. You will manage your own caseload, collaborate with internal teams and external partners, and respond to issues as they arise – including safeguarding concerns or changes in circumstances.

This is an agile role, with a mix of home working, office presence and travel across the North West, particularly around Preston and Leyland. Because of the need to travel, you must have a full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle.

What We Are Looking For

  • Approachable, proactive, and confident when supporting individuals with a range of needs
  • Experience supporting customers with complex or changing circumstances
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • The ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently
  • A problem‑solving mindset with confidence to respond to emerging issues
  • Strong knowledge of welfare benefits or experience supporting income maximisation
  • Experience working with partner organisations or within housing/support settings (desirable)
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Why Progress?

We’re people‑focused, genuine, and forward‑thinking. We care deeply about our colleagues and communities, and we’ll support you to grow in a role that really matters.

We welcome applications from everyone, especially from underrepresented groups. Inclusion matters here.
