The Posts
Medicines Strategic Sourcing Team
- Responsible for a portfolio of commodity items.
- Implement National Procurement strategies and manage supplier relationships to secure best value contracts.
- Provide customers with excellent product choice, quality and contribute to strategic sourcing targets.
- Current focus on sourcing service and product commodities required by NHS Scotland.
PASAG (Patient Access Scheme Assessment Group) Secretariat
- Co‑ordinate day‑to‑day management of the PASAG Secretariat.
- Work with pharmaceutical companies to negotiate medicine pricing arrangements on behalf of NHS Scotland health boards.
- Support identification of sourcing opportunities and development of procurement strategies to optimise value for new medicines.
- Contribute to operational processes, policies relating to procurement, purchasing and supply of medicines.
The Candidate
We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic people who are commercially aware, able to plan strategically and possess excellent problem‑solving, organisational, influencing and communication skills. Candidates should work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications:
- Degree level in a relevant business discipline.
- Membership of The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or equivalent, or actively working towards it.
- Demonstrable experience with a successful track record in strategic sourcing, including strategy development and supplier management.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
