Established international banking organisation is seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to join its Retail Compliance team on a 12-month FTC. Salary range between £70,000 – £90,000

This is an excellent opportunity for a pragmatic and commercially minded compliance professional with strong retail banking experience to work closely with business stakeholders across a broad range of retail banking products and customer journeys.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted compliance adviser, supporting the business on regulatory and conduct risk matters while helping to deliver fair customer outcomes and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide practical, risk-based compliance advice across retail banking products and activities
  • Support product areas including transactional banking, savings, regulated and unregulated lending
  • Advise on Consumer Duty, product governance, fair value assessments and customer outcomes
  • Provide compliance input on digital, online and telephony distribution channels
  • Identify and assess regulatory risks and potential breaches, ensuring appropriate escalation where required
  • Participate in governance forums, risk assessments and incident management processes
  • Support regulatory reporting obligations and regulatory change initiatives
  • Interpret regulatory developments and communicate clear guidance to stakeholders
  • Assist with policy development, compliance training and broader compliance initiatives
  • Work collaboratively across a small, high-performing compliance team
Skills & Experience Required
  • Extensive compliance experience within retail banking or wider banking environments
  • Strong knowledge of FCA regulatory frameworks and conduct risk requirements
  • Experience advising on retail banking products, lending and customer outcomes
  • Good understanding of Consumer Duty and product governance requirements
  • Ability to apply regulatory knowledge pragmatically within a commercial environment
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience supporting regulatory change and governance processes
  • Organised, analytical and solutions-focused approach
  • Previous payments regulation experience is beneficial but not essential
