HR Business Partner£50,000 – £55,000 HuddersfieldOn-site (4 days) / 1 day WFH | 37.5 hours | Flexible working

Elevation Recruitment Group are working in partnership with a growing, fast-paced manufacturing organisation to recruit a HR Business Partner. This is a key role within the UK HR team, supporting a large, evolving, site-based workforce during a period of transformation and growth.

This isn’t a sit-back HR role. It’s hands-on, operational, and suited to someone who’s comfortable being visible on site, influencing at all levels, and dealing with the reality of a busy, (unionised) blue-collar environment.

What’s on offer:
  • Salary up to £55,000
  • 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays, with flexibility to swap)

Reporting into the HR Manager, you’ll partner closely with operational leaders to deliver a consistent and effective HR service across the site. You’ll play a central role in aligning people strategy with business objectives while ensuring employee relations, performance, and engagement are managed proactively.

Once embedded, the role will be roughly split between 50% ER and 50% broader HR activity, including workforce planning, development, and change initiatives.

Key Responsibilities of the HR Business Partner:
  • Partner with managers to deliver people strategies that support both immediate and long-term business goals
  • Lead on a wide range of employee relations cases, from investigation through to outcome and appeal
  • Coach and support line managers on performance, absence, conduct, and capability
  • Support organisational change initiatives including restructures, shift changes, and contract changes
  • Drive engagement, development, and retention initiatives across a diverse and ageing workforce
  • Manage and improve onboarding, training, and development programmes
  • Ensure performance management processes are embedded and effective
  • Contribute to HR reporting, analysing trends in absence, turnover, and performance
  • Support payroll processes and ensure compliance across HR systems
  • Build strong working relationships with employees, managers, and representatives where applicable
  • Deputise for the HR Manager when required
Key Skills & Experience required:
  • Proven experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within a site-based, operational or manufacturing environment
  • Strong employment law knowledge and confidence managing complex ER cases
  • Experience working in a unionised environment is highly advantageous
  • CIPD Level 5 (minimum) or working towards
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with evolving systems
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions
