Head of Data Strategy & Architecture

Head of Data Strategy & Architecture | Cambridge | Hybrid

We’re looking for a senior data leader to define and deliver our clients enterprise data strategy and target architecture, enabling AI at scale across a modern data ecosystem.

You’ll lead the Data Architecture function and Data CoE, driving a data mesh approach that empowers domain teams to build high-quality, AI-ready data products. This role is central to improving data maturity, governance, and value across the organisation.

Key responsibilities:

• Define and execute enterprise data strategy and roadmap
• Lead and grow a high-performing Data Architecture team
• Establish data governance, standards, and operating models (ownership, stewardship, quality, metadata)
• Enable AI readiness, including data quality, lineage, and Responsible AI controls
• Partner with AI CoE and platform teams to deliver scalable data products
• Drive adoption of modern data practices (cloud, data mesh, CI/CD)
• Engage senior stakeholders and influence organisation-wide change

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience leading data strategy and enterprise data architecture in complex environments
• Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership skills
• Expertise in modern data platforms, governance, and AI/data integration
• Track record of delivering data transformation and improving data maturity

You’ll play a pivotal role shaping how data and AI drive business value, leading a critical function with real enterprise impact.
