Exciting new opportunity! I am currently working with a well-established laboratory business who are looking for a General Manager to oversee multi-site operations. This is a senior leadership position responsible for operational performance, client relationships, commercial growth, and overall site management within a high-throughput laboratory environment.
Responsibilities
- Managing the overall performance and day-to-day operations across multiple laboratory sites
- Driving site profitability, operational efficiency, and KPI performance
- Leading and developing laboratory management teams
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Supporting business growth and identifying opportunities for additional services
- Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and accreditation standards
- Managing staffing, training, succession planning, and performance management
- Implementing continuous improvement initiatives across the business
- Producing business plans and performance reports for senior leadership
Requirements
- Previous experience managing laboratory operations or large technical teams
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and operational targets
- Background within food, environmental, chemistry, microbiology, or related testing sectors
- Ability to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel when required
