This is a unique opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to take full ownership of mechanical design within the business. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing new machinery from scratch, leading concept development, prototyping and R&D, and taking designs through to manufacture. You’ll work closely with production, electrical/control panels, service engineers and project delivery teams, playing a key role in the continued growth of the business.
Design bespoke machinery from concept through to manufacture Produce 3D models, assemblies and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor Lead R&D, prototyping and new machine development Design sheet metal and stainless-steel fabricated components Support build, test, installation and commissioning phases Collaborate with production, projects and service teams Contribute ideas to improve machine performance, build quality and efficiency
Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within a machinery manufacturing environment Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials Experience with sheet metal design Experience in food, beverage or packaging machinery (desired)
