Job Description:

Forward Deployed Engineer

We’re partnered with a fast-growing applied AI company building production systems that help large organisations modernise and automate complex operational workflows involving high volumes of individual “cases” that must be reviewed, processed, and resolved end-to-end.

Their platform combines AI-driven decisioning with robust engineering infrastructure to streamline workflows that are still heavily manual, exception-driven, and require coordination between multiple stakeholders and systems.

They work with established enterprise customers operating in regulated, operations-heavy environments where accuracy, auditability, and reliability are critical to day-to-day execution. The business is already live in production across multiple large organisations and is backed by leading venture investors.

About the Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll work directly with enterprise customers to deploy AI systems into complex, high-volume production environments where real-world operational work is structured around individual cases that must be triaged, processed, and resolved end-to-end.

You’ll be responsible for identifying high-impact automation opportunities within these workflows, leading technical integrations, and delivering production-grade systems that sit directly in the customer’s operational path.#

A large part of the role involves working through messy, real-world edge cases where requirements are incomplete, systems are fragmented, and correctness, auditability, and reliability matter as much as speed. You’ll help translate these environments into scalable software systems, and your work will directly shape the product through feedback from real deployments in the field.

Requirements

  • Strong full-stack engineering experience
  • Proficiency in modern web technologies such as Next.js, Node.js, and TypeScript
  • Experience building and maintaining production systems
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with changing requirements
  • Strong ownership mentality and bias toward execution
  • Ability to translate customer needs into technical solutions
  • Startup or high-growth environment experience is beneficial
  • Willingness to work on-site in London and engage directly with customers as needed

This is an opportunity to work closely with customers on mission-critical systems in a high-impact domain, with significant ownership, visibility, and responsibility from day one.
