I’m working with a high-end product development consultancy known for solving complex engineering challenges across life sciences, MedTech, and advanced technology sectors. They’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who enjoys working on technically challenging projects, from early-stage concept through to functional prototypes and product development.
The Role This isn’t a typical in-house design role. You’ll be working across a range of projects, supporting the development of innovative devices and systems within life sciences and medical technology.
Typical work includes: Designing complex mechanical components and assemblies Developing concepts into working prototypes Contributing to full product development lifecycles Working closely with multidisciplinary teams (electronics, software, scientists) Solving challenging engineering problems across different industries
Projects vary, but often involve precision mechanisms, fluidic systems, or novel device concepts.
What They’re Looking For Background in Mechanical Engineering or similar Experience in product development, R&D, or design engineering Strong CAD skills (e.g. SolidWorks or similar) Comfortable working from concept through to prototype Interest or experience in life sciences, MedTech, or complex systems
You don’t need to come from a consultancy background, but you do need to enjoy variety and problem-solving.
