About the Role: We are seeking a Network Engineer to support the design, operation and ongoing development of secure global networks used across maritime, satellite and government communication systems.

You will work within a specialist engineering environment supporting both internal infrastructure and customer networks, ensuring reliability, security and performance across complex WAN environments. The role involves hands-on engineering, troubleshooting and collaboration with internal IT and engineering teams.

Client: Our client provides satellite and radio communication services, offering secure and high-quality voice and data services worldwide, regardless of location or time. Location: Redhill, Surrey, UK + up to 6 Days/Month Remote

Maintain and support internal and customer network environments throughout their lifecycle. Design, build, test and commission network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls and VPN environments. Troubleshoot complex networking issues across routing, compression and long-latency satellite networks. Monitor network performance and analyse logs to identify trends or recurring issues. Maintain network documentation, including configurations, schematics and support procedures. Collaborate with IT, engineering and operations teams to maintain secure network access across multiple environments. Act as a senior escalation point for complex network support issues. Participate in an out-of-hours support rota when required.

WAN, LAN, VPN and satellite network environments VoIP networking environments Linux-based systems

Experience designing, supporting and troubleshooting enterprise networks. Hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies. Strong understanding of routing protocols and secure network architecture. Experience working with firewalls, VPN technologies and network security controls. Ability to analyse network performance issues and implement improvements. Experience providing 2nd and 3rd line network support. CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet certification or equivalent networking experience. Approximately five years’ experience supporting enterprise network environments. Candidates must be eligible to obtain UK security clearance.
