We are seeking a Principal FEA Engineer to lead multidisciplinary work streams and guide engineering teams in the delivery of a high-profile, multi-year maritime defence project.
In this pivotal role, you will use Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to model and assess the structural response of submarine propulsors under quasi-static and dynamic conditions. So, what will you be doing as a Principal FEA Engineer?
Lead and coordinate engineering activities, applying technical expertise and sound judgement to deliver projects within scope, time, and budget. Mentor and share expertise with engineering teams to build capability. Ensure safe project delivery, identifying hazards and providing options to reduce risk to as low as reasonably practicable. What are we looking for in our next Principal FEA Engineer?
Proven experience leading multidisciplinary project teams. Excellent understanding of engineering principles. Experience in Finite Element Analysis of structures and systems. Proficiency in FEA software (ideally Abaqus). Proficiency in CAD software. BEng / MEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
