About Us

St Martin of Tours Housing Association has more than 40 years’ experience providing supported housing and care for people with complex and enduring mental health needs, delivering services across a number of schemes in London and working in partnership with local authorities and health services to create stable homes, promote independence and provide person-centred support.

With some of our current board members reaching the end of their term, we are seeking to appoint two new Board Members at an exciting point in our development as we continue to grow, build on our core expertise and diversify our services into new areas.

We are particularly interested in hearing from those with experience in the following areas:

• Finance and Treasury

• IT and Data Management

• Transformation and Change

• Audit and Risk

Key responsibilities include preparing for and attending Board and Committee meetings and contributing effectively to discussions and decision-making. Board Members play a central role in setting strategic direction and providing oversight of performance, risk and governance. You will have the opportunity to contribute to one or more sub committees. The Board meets quarterly in person, with Committee meetings typically held remotely in advance of each Board cycle. Meetings are typically held late afternoon, and we have two Board Away Days each year. Board Members are also supported to engage with personal development opportunities relevant to their role.

You will bring strong communication, influencing and decision-making skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with fellow Board members, the executive team and wider stakeholders. You will contribute confidently to Board discussions, offering constructive challenge while maintaining trust and respect. The role requires independent judgement and the ability to support collective decision-making. Board Members are also responsible for ensuring the organisation meets its legal and regulatory obligations. A clear commitment to the values and ethos of St Martins of Tours is essential, alongside a genuine commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.

We welcome applications from both experienced and first-time Board Members and are seeking individuals who bring relevant skills and experience alongside sound judgement, integrity and a genuine commitment to our mission. We value diversity of thought and background and are keen to ensure our Board reflects the communities we serve. You will be joining a committed and engaged Board that works with openness, respect and thoughtful debate, with a real opportunity to contribute to the future direction of the organisation and the lives of our residents.
