Construction Planner – Primavera P6 – Substation design and build
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Planner (P6) to work on a HV substation design and build. This role will see you working for the contractor, taking ownership of programme management across complex construction and operational scopes, ensuring delivery certainty under an NEC contract framework.
This is a contract or permament position outside IR35, offering a competitive £450-500 per day, with a hybrid working model (3 days on site near to Glasgow, with some further flexibility on this.
The Role
· Manage and maintain the existing Primavera P6 programme.
· Coordinate and oversee the integrated master programme with the main contractor and key stakeholders.
· Ensure alignment between construction activities and operational scope requirements
· Act as the programme focal point, providing challenge and assurance on contractor submissions
· Lead programme reviews, progress validation, and performance reporting
· Identify, analyse and mitigate programme risks, delays, and dependencies
· Support the commercial team through programme input on compensation events
· Manage NEC contractual processes, including early warning notices and change control mechanisms
· Produce and assess what-if scenarios, recovery strategies, and mitigation plans
Essential Skills & Experience Required
· Strong expertise in Primavera P6 (planning, updating, and analysis)
· Proven experience on major construction projects, ideally with high voltage expertise
· Demonstrable NEC contract experience, including early warnings and compensation events
· Experience working across both client and contractor environments
· Ability to manage and interrogate integrated programmes involving multiple stakeholders
· Strong understanding of construction sequencing, logistics, and operational integration
· Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills
Desirable Experience
· Experience working with tier 1/ 2 contractors
· Exposure to fast-track or highly regulated environments
Contract Details
· Location: Stirling (3 days on site)
· Rate: £500 – £550 per day
· Duration: Initial 6 months.
