Head of Delegated Operations

City of London – Hybrid

Key Responsibilities

Delegated Authority Operations Oversight

  • Lead the operational framework for all delegated authority business across the syndicate.
  • Ensure effective onboarding, administration, and ongoing oversight of Coverholders, TPAs, and delegated partners.
  • Maintain operational processes aligned with Lloyd’s Delegated Authority requirements and internal governance standards.
  • Oversee bordereaux management, data quality controls, and reporting accuracy.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Lloyd’s Minimum Standards, FCA requirements, and internal risk frameworks.
  • Oversee due diligence, audits, and operational reviews of delegated partners.
  • Partner with Compliance and Risk functions to manage regulatory obligations and remediation activities.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of contracts, binding authority agreements, and delegated records.

Operational Excellence

  • Develop and implement scalable operational processes and controls.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, automation, and service delivery.
  • Lead operational change projects related to delegated authority platforms, data management, and process transformation.
  • Monitor KPIs, SLAs, and operational performance metrics.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a senior operational contact for internal stakeholders, brokers, Coverholders, TPAs, and Lloyd’s.
  • Work closely with underwriting teams to support business growth while maintaining operational integrity.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Actuarial teams to ensure accurate premium, claims, and exposure reporting.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the delegated operations team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage resource planning, succession planning, and team capability development.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Significant experience in Delegated Authority Operations within the Lloyd’s market.
  • Strong knowledge of Lloyd’s Delegated Authority framework, Coverholder governance, and bordereaux management.
  • Experience managing operational teams within a syndicate or specialty insurance environment.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements impacting delegated business.
  • Proven track record of operational transformation and process improvement.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience working with delegated authority systems and data platforms.
