Job Description:

A leading global investment bank is currently recruiting for a FI Financing Sales Associate (Repo Sales – UK Clients) to join its Global Markets division on a permanent basis, focused on expanding its secured financing franchise across institutional clients.

The role is based in London (Liverpool Street) and offers hybrid working (3 days on site per week), with close collaboration across Front Office trading desks, risk, legal and senior stakeholders.

This is a business-critical, urgent hire within a lean Repo Sales team, requiring an experienced individual who can operate independently from day one and take ownership of client relationships across the UK market.

They are seeking a commercially driven and technically strong Repo Sales professional with proven experience across secured funding products and client coverage within financial markets.

Key Responsibilities

Client Coverage & Revenue Generation

  • Develop and expand relationships with institutional clients including hedge funds, asset managers, pension funds, banks and corporates
  • Drive revenue growth across the repo and secured funding franchise through proactive client engagement
  • Identify and onboard new clients in line with commercial growth objectives

Product Coverage & Execution

  • Cover a broad product suite including repo, cross-currency repo, securities lending, collateral swaps and TRS
  • Work closely with trading desks to optimise pricing, execution and profitability across transactions
  • Deliver tailored funding solutions aligned to client needs and market conditions

Risk Management & Balance Sheet Optimisation

  • Manage balance sheet utilisation, credit limits and client allocations throughout the trade lifecycle
  • Monitor market conditions and provide feedback to trading desks and stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to internal risk frameworks and regulatory requirements

Stakeholder Management & Processes

  • Partner with internal teams including trading, legal, risk, operations and coverage bankers
  • Support onboarding processes including KYC, legal documentation (GMRA/GMSLA) and credit approvals
  • Lead client meetings, roadshows and cross-selling initiatives across product lines

Platform & Process Enhancement

  • Promote electronic trading platforms and support adoption across the client base
  • Contribute to improving internal sales tools, workflows and front-to-back processes

Team Context & Environment

  • The Repo Sales function has recently been separated into a dedicated solutions team, distinct from Money Markets
  • Client responsibility is currently concentrated, meaning the successful candidate will take on significant ownership from day one
  • This is a fast-paced, high-visibility role with direct impact on the franchise

The Ideal Candidate

  • 2 – 5+ years’ experience in Repo Sales or secured funding products
  • Strong technical understanding of repo, securities lending and collateralised funding products
  • Proven track record of client relationship management and revenue generation
  • Experience covering buy-side clients (hedge funds, asset managers, pension funds) is highly desirable
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal ramp-up in a front-office environment
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Good understanding of market risk, balance sheet usage and credit exposure

Regulatory Requirements

  • Relevant FCA qualifications must be in place or completed
