Talent Development Advisor

Company: Lawfront
Apply for the Talent Development Advisor
Location: Essex
Job Description:

Lawfront is a group of leading regional law firms who are dedicated to delivering comprehensive legal support to individuals and businesses nationwide. Our mission is to unite exceptional legal practices across the country in a single, supportive platform that drives accelerated growth, fosters innovation, and builds long-term value for all stakeholders.

We’re committed to ambitious growth and aspire to be a top 10 regional legal services business in the UK.

Lawfront is building a modern approach to talent development across a growing network of high‑quality law firms — and we are looking for a Talent Development Advisor to play a central role in shaping that journey. This is an opportunity to join a small, expert team where your work is visible, your ideas matter, and the programmes you build genuinely change how people learn.

About the Role

As one of two Advisors in the Talent Development team, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of member firms, working closely with their People & Culture teams to understand their world, identify development needs, and shape solutions that have real local relevance.

This is a genuinely broad role. You will work across the full spectrum of talent development activity from early talent and trainee induction through to management development, curriculum design, learning needs analysis, and multi‑stage development initiatives. You will move confidently between advisory work, design, facilitation, and the operational detail that keeps programmes running smoothly.

We are looking for someone who brings expertise, challenge, and curiosity to their firm relationships — someone who identifies needs proactively, holds themselves to a high standard, and works like a true advisor.

A background in the legal sector, or strong familiarity with how law firms operate, will make a meaningful difference. You will need to walk into a firm, understand the culture quickly, and hold credible conversations about what their lawyers and business services teams actually need.

How We Work

Our philosophy is simple: people learn through memory, not information transfer. We design experiences that are vivid, challenging, surprising — the kinds of moments people remember and draw on months later when it matters.

We don’t default to familiar formats. We question, iterate, and push for work that is genuinely memorable, not just well‑received on the day. If you find the design process exciting, think deeply about how people learn, and are never quite satisfied with “fine”, you will fit right in.

What You’ll Do

  • Build strong relationships with People & Culture teams across your portfolio of firms.
  • Act as their primary development contact, ensuring they know what’s available and what’s coming.
  • Proactively identify learning needs using conversations, data, and business insight.
  • Translate insight into clear briefs and well‑targeted development activity.
  • Design and deliver development programmes across a range of audiences — from newly qualified professionals to experienced practitioners.
  • Contribute to the evolution of Lawfront’s groupwide curriculum.
  • Support early talent initiatives and groupwide strategic projects.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of development activity — scoping, scheduling, logistics, communications, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Keep multiple workstreams moving at pace.
  • Manage relationships with external providers and hold them to a high standard.
  • Use data and feedback to demonstrate impact and inform future investment.
  • Work closely with the Head of Talent Development and your fellow Advisor to build a coherent, ambitious development offer across the network.
  • Stay current with developments in L&D and the legal sector, contributing ideas and raising the bar for the function.

What We’re Looking For

  • Solid experience in talent development, L&D, or a people advisory role.
  • Proven ability to operate in an advisory capacity — shaping needs, influencing stakeholders, and designing solutions.
  • Experience in or strong familiarity with the legal sector.
  • Ability to manage a varied portfolio, balancing advisory, design, and operational responsibilities.

Skills & Attributes

  • A natural relationship‑builder with strong judgement and credibility.
  • Confident, consultative, and able to challenge constructively.
  • Skilled at identifying needs and translating insight into targeted development activity.
  • Strong design capability — from curriculum frameworks to individual workshops.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Organised, practical, and comfortable with operational detail.
  • Thrives in ambiguity and enjoys building something new.

What We Offer

  • A collaborative, ambitious team where your contribution is visible.
  • The chance to design and deliver programmes that are genuinely yours.
  • Hybrid working with flexibility built around delivery, not presenteeism.
  • The opportunity to shape how a growing legal group develops its people — and leave a lasting legacy.

If this sounds like you and is of interest, then please apply and we’ll be in touch.
