Transformation Project Manager (HRIS) – Home Based
12-month FTC (strong likelihood of extension)
£60,000 – £65,000
We’re supporting a national organisation in the search for an experienced Transformation Project Manager to lead a major HR and payroll systems transformation.
This is a high-impact role for someone who can combine strong project management discipline with hands-on HRIS implementation experience. The organisation is looking for an individual who can take ownership of the full project lifecycle, help mobilise the programme, and drive it through to delivery.
With a key focus on people, processes, and adoption, this is a business-led transformation, and this role is a critical part of the programme.
The Role
You’ll lead the delivery of an HRIS project with a focus on HR and payroll, with potential additional scope across related workforce systems.
You’ll be expected to operate from early-stage discovery through to implementation, working across business stakeholders, SMEs, suppliers, and governance forums to ensure the project is structured, controlled, and successfully delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead an end-to-end HRIS implementation project from discovery through to deployment
- Own project governance, planning, controls, reporting, and stakeholder management
- Support requirements validation and help shape future project scope
- Manage the RFP and procurement process alongside internal procurement and SME teams
- Contribute to business case development and support investment decision-making
- Oversee vendor selection, supplier management, and implementation activity
- Coordinate data migration and integration activity from a project leadership perspective
- Drive rollout, business readiness, and handover into BAU
- Build credibility quickly with both business and technical stakeholders
- Help re-energise a programme that has previously been paused
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end HRIS or HR/payroll system implementations
- Strong project management fundamentals, including governance, delivery planning, risk and issue management, and controls
- Experience working across the full lifecycle, including requirements, procurement/RFP, vendor selection, implementation, and rollout
- Strong understanding of HR operations and processes
- Ability to lead from a business change perspective, not just a technical delivery lens
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional SMEs
- Strong communication skills and the ability to operate in a complex organisation
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the credibility to hit the ground running
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting data migration, mapping, validation, and integration within system implementations
- Exposure to change management or business readiness activity
- Broader ERP or finance systems experience
Additional Details
- 12-month fixed-term contract
- Likely extension beyond initial term
- Home-based, with occasional travel to London for key workshops, demos, and stakeholder sessions
- Interview process expected to be a single stage plus assessment
If this is of interest, apply today and we’ll be in touch to discuss further.
