Job Description:

HR Business Partner– Luton, Bedfordshire.

The HR Business Partner position is in Luton and reports to the Head of HR. This role is diverse and hands-on, providing support across various areas including recruitment, employee engagement, labour relations, internal communications, compensation and benefits, employee wellbeing, and training. The HR Business Partner plays a crucial role in implementing organisational development initiatives that promote the company’s culture. Additionally, it ensures that HR policies and procedures are properly governed and aligned with business objectives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR policies, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices.
  • Lead apprenticeship and early careers programs, including outreach and support.
  • Coordinate recruitment, manage assessment processes, and communicate with candidates/agencies.
  • Support organisational change and consultation processes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on HR matters to employees and managers.
  • Manage HR administration and documentation per company policies.
  • Assist with payroll in collaboration with Finance.
  • Collaborate with line managers to provide proactive HR support.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Analyse training needs and aid development initiatives.
  • Maintain HR metrics and support KPIs.
  • Liaise with Trade Union representatives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures.

Requirements:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards) or equivalent experience.
  • Generalist HR experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of UK employment legislation.
  • Proven experience in employee relations.
  • Interest in apprenticeships and early careers.
  • Ability to support organisational change.
  • Experience with trade unions is a plus.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Proficient in HR systems and Microsoft Office.
