Description

This is not a traditional “account management” role.

You’ll step in as second-in-command to the Managing Director within client services, inheriting responsibility for several of the agency’s most significant client relationships – including major brands within construction, energy infrastructure, and higher education.

You’ll be expected to lead from the front: shaping strategy, driving commercial performance, mentoring team members, and helping define the future direction of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as senior strategic lead across flagship client accounts
  • Partner closely with the Managing Director and the Strategy leadership team
  • Own and grow multiple high-value B2B client relationships
  • Develop strategic account plans and identify growth opportunities
  • Lead briefing, planning, and delivery across brand, digital, and campaign projects
  • Take ownership of profitability, utilisation, recoverability, and commercial negotiations
  • Line manage and develop members of the delivery team
  • Support new business activity, including proposals, chemistry meetings, and pitches
  • Contribute at board level, influencing operational and strategic business decisions

Experience

You’re already operating successfully at Account Director level, with at least 2 years’ experience in a senior client leadership role.

You’re already operating successfully at Account Director level, with experienc in:

  • Strong B2B agency experience (essential)
  • The ability to operate confidently at both strategic and operational levels
  • Commercial sharpness and strong financial awareness
  • Excellent client counsel and relationship-building skills
  • A track record of identifying and converting organic growth opportunities
  • Natural leadership and mentoring capability
  • Confidence managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of financial tools such as Xero
  • Experience with forecasting, P&L ownership, or agency financial reporting

Remuneration

  • £45,000–£50,000 DOE
  • Performance-related bonus
