About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager to lead the delivery of engineering and technical services across a major UK-wide account. This is a senior leadership role within a high-profile, government contract, offering the opportunity to drive real change, influence strategy, and shape technical service delivery at scale.
You will act as the senior technical authority across the account, overseeing performance, compliance, and continuous improvement across a large engineering population, while working closely with key stakeholders and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of technical and engineering services across the account
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues
- Ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery aligned to contractual requirements
- Build and maintain strong client relationships as the key technical contact
- Drive service performance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Own financial performance including budgets, cost control, and revenue targets
- Implement standard processes, systems, and best practices across the contract
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, statutory, and regulatory requirements
- Identify opportunities for service improvement, cost savings, and growth
This role provides strategic oversight across approximately 300 engineers, setting standards and driving improvements, without direct line management responsibility
About You
We’re looking for a confident and commercially astute technical leader with a strong background in building services or hard FM.
Essential Skills & Experience
- 7–10 years’ experience in a senior technical or engineering leadership role
- Strong background in technical services delivery within hard FM or building services
- Proven experience in compliance, risk management, and service performance
- Experience leading technical change and implementing improvements at scale
- Strong commercial awareness (budgets, contracts, margins)
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Analytical, structured problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset
- Electrical qualifications preferred
- HNC/HND (or equivalent) in an electrical or related discipline
- Full UK driving licence required
