Our client is a family owned business in Leicestershire that specialises in the manufacturing of premium products in the food industry. They are currently looking to welcome an experienced Inventory and Purchasing Coordinator to join their growing team.
Key Tasks :
- Maintain accurate stock records and forecasts to support operational efficiency
- Monitor stock levels to ensure availability while minimising waste and excess stock
- Conduct regular stock counts, investigations, and reconciliations to maintain inventory accuracy
- Support traceability exercises, audits, and compliance activities across the site
- Identify and report slow-moving or at-risk stock to reduce operational risk
- Develop strong supplier relationships, including pricing reviews and negotiations
- Raise purchase orders in line with approved suppliers, contracts, and production requirements
- Ensure materials are ordered in line with production plans and forecast demand
- Manage supplier communication regarding deliveries, shortages, delays, and quality concerns
- Confirm delivery schedules and quantities to avoid disruption to production
- Match deliveries and invoices against purchase orders and agreed pricing
- Ensure all materials meet food safety and quality standards
- Collaborate with NPD and Marketing teams on product launches and required changes
- Prepare monthly KPI and performance reports
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects across purchasing and stock control operations
- Support the wider business through additional duties as required by management
Required Experience :
- Experience in stock control, inventory management, purchasing, or supply chain coordination
- Previous experience within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment is desirable, but not essential
- Good understanding of stock accuracy, ordering processes, and supplier management
- Confident using computer systems, stock management software, and spreadsheets
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
