The Opportunity

Nigel Wright Group is delighted to be supporting a well-established, purpose-led housing and property organisation with the appointment of a Multi‑Skilled Repairs & Maintenance Technician.

The Role

As a Multi‑Skilled Technician, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of day-to-day repairs and minor works across a regional housing portfolio.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out repairs across multiple trades including:
  • Carpentry, plumbing, plastering, masonry and general maintenance
  • Conducting whole-house property inspections and diagnosing maintenance issues
  • Capturing stock condition data and preparing schedules of work for larger repairs
  • Supporting the delivery of maintenance services alongside senior surveying colleagues
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
  • Engaging directly with tenants, delivering a customer-focused and respectful service
  • Completing risk assessments and working in line with all health and safety requirements

This is a varied, hands-on role where you will work independently while contributing to wider service delivery and continuous improvement.

About You

We are seeking a reliable and skilled professional with strong experience across multiple trades and a passion for delivering excellent customer service.

You will bring:

  • Practical experience in multi-trade repairs (carpentry, plumbing, plastering, etc.)
  • A strong understanding of:
  • Building regulations
  • Housing maintenance and building pathology
  • Experience carrying out property inspections and fault diagnosis
  • Good IT skills and confidence using mobile devices for reporting
  • Excellent communication and a tenant-first approach
  • Strong organisational and time management skills

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in carpentry or plumbing, plus a second trade at Level 2
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel across a regional patch
