Technical Accounting Manager for FTSE listed business in Hampshire!
Hook (Hybrid – 3 days per week in office)
£80,000 – £90,000 + car allowance + bonus + benefits
Overview
We are seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to lead the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting within a complex, multi-entity environment. This role is central to ensuring strong technical accounting governance, driving consistency across reporting processes, and supporting business performance through high-quality financial insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end Record-to-Report (R2R) processes, ensuring accuracy, control, and compliance
- Act as the technical accounting subject matter expert (including IFRS 15 & 16)
- Manage and develop a team of onshore and offshore financial accountants
- Drive an efficient month-end close process, including review of key journal entries and adjustments
- Deliver robust financial analysis, forecasting, and variance insights across multiple business units
- Own and review key balance sheet positions (WIP, debtors, accruals, prepayments)
- Ensure strong financial controls, reconciliations, and compliance with accounting standards and policies
- Partner with Finance Business Partners and operational stakeholders to support decision-making
- Drive continuous improvement and process standardisation across finance operations
Skills & Experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
- Strong experience in technical accounting and financial reporting
- Proven experience leading and developing teams
- Background in complex, multi-entity or contract-driven environments
- Strong controls and process mindset
- Commercial awareness with the ability to link financial and operational drivers
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous or fast-paced environments
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
