A well-established engineering and manufacturing business in Fife is looking to appoint a QHSE Lead to take ownership of site-wide health, safety, environmental and quality performance.

This position sits within a busy production facility supporting complex mechanical systems and aftermarket services. The focus is heavily weighted towards HSE leadership, alongside oversight of the quality function through an established team.

You’ll play a key role in shaping standards, ensuring compliance, and embedding a proactive culture across the site.

The Role

  • Take full responsibility for site QHSE performance, policies and compliance
  • Develop and maintain structured frameworks to support continuous improvement
  • Lead internal audits, ensuring actions are implemented and standards upheld
  • Produce regular performance reports for senior stakeholders
  • Support the wider leadership team in driving a strong safety-first culture
  • Manage and develop a small team, addressing skills gaps where needed

HSE & Quality Focus

  • Maintain risk assessments and environmental registers
  • Ensure legal and internal compliance requirements are consistently met
  • Lead investigations into incidents, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Coordinate training to maintain workforce competence
  • Act as the main contact for regulatory bodies and external stakeholders
  • Oversee quality activities, ensuring systems and processes remain effective

About You

  • Background in HSE, Quality or a related discipline
  • Experience managing ISO standards
  • Proven track record in a similar leadership role within manufacturing or engineering
  • Confident communicator, able to engage across all levels
  • Experience developing teams and improving site performance
