A leading Tier-1 Engineering Contractor is seeking a MEP Commercial Manager to lead high-value, technically complex projects across the semiconductor, life sciences, and advanced manufacturing sectors.
In this senior role, you will take full ownership of commercial performance, cost control, and contract compliance on major high-tech mechanical projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial & Contract Leadership: Manage all commercial functions across major mechanical projects, ensuring compliance with contract terms (NEC, FIDIC, etc.).
- Financial Management: Drive procurement strategies, subcontractor engagement, change management, variations, and final accounts.
- Cost Control & Reporting: Oversee project measurement, valuations, cash flow, and financial reporting for executive stakeholders.
- Risk & Opportunity: Identify and mitigate commercial risks while maximizing project profitability.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and develop a high-performing team of Quantity Surveyors and collaborate closely with Project Directors.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: BSc in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or equivalent.
- Experience: 10+ years in mechanical quantity surveying and commercial management.
- Sector Expertise: Proven track record on semiconductor, cleanroom, data center, or high-tech industrial projects.
- Technical Skills: Strong mechanical background with the ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
- Accreditation: MRICS, SCSI, or equivalent chartership is highly desirable.
