Head of Operational Excellence

Freshminds has been retained by a large transport and logistics firm to find a Head of Operational Excellence.

Reporting to the Director of Transformation, you will own the operational excellence system across a complex, multi‑site operation, defining and embedding standards, governance and assurance to improve performance consistency and reduce operational risk.

Responsibilities:

• Define and govern operational standards, ways of working and performance frameworks across the business
• Lead capability and training frameworks to improve safety, reliability and service delivery outcomes
• Use data and insight to diagnose root‑cause issues and drive operational improvement
• Build and lead a high‑performing team

Requirements:

• Senior operational excellence, transformation or service delivery leadership experience
• Strong track record embedding standards, governance and assurance in complex, regulated environments
• Proven ability to influence and challenge senior operational stakeholders across multiple sites
• Experience leading continuous improvement and performance transformation programmes
