Pipefitter / Plumber Supervisor (Working Manager)

We are working with a growing mechanical contractor delivering high-quality pipework and plumbing installations across a diverse portfolio of commercial and heritage projects.
Due to continued expansion, they are looking to appoint an experienced Pipefitter / Plumber Supervisor (Working Manager) to take ownership of site-based delivery and play a key role in developing a growing division.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership position, combining installation expertise with site management responsibility. You will lead mechanical works from installation through to commissioning, ensuring delivery is safe, compliant, and to a high standard.
⚙️ Key Responsibilities
- Lead and carry out commercial pipework and plumbing installations
- Supervise day-to-day site activities and coordinate labour/subcontractors
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety (RAMS, toolbox talks, PPE)
- Manage materials, plant, and site logistics
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Liaise with clients, main contractors, and project teams
- Monitor programme progress and report risks/delays
- Maintain site records (diaries, timesheets, materials)
- Support testing, commissioning, and handover
- Provide guidance to junior operatives and apprentices
✅ Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or Pipefitting (minimum)
- CSCS (Gold Supervisor preferred)
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- Proven experience managing site-based mechanical installations
- Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing and HVAC systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
