Project Manager
A well-established main contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a prestigious private college refurbishment project in the Midlands.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven construction professional with strong refurbishment experience and a track record of delivering education or occupied-building projects safely, on programme, and within budget.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Director, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of the project from pre-construction through to handover.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing day-to-day site operations
- Coordinating subcontractors and direct labour
- Ensuring health & safety compliance across the project
- Maintaining programme and budget targets
- Managing client relationships and attending progress meetings
- Overseeing quality control and snagging processes
- Liaising with design teams, consultants, and stakeholders
- Driving programme performance and problem solving on site
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager with a main contractor
- Strong refurbishment and fit-out experience
- Education sector experience advantageous
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage projects in live or occupied environments
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications
- Strong commercial awareness and programme management capability
