Senior Chartered Building Surveyor
Location: Birmingham (Hybrid Working)
This is an opportunity for a Senior Building Surveyor to join a respected multidisciplinary property consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality Building Surveying services across the education, public sector and retail sectors.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of newly secured projects, they are looking to appoint a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor to join their Birmignham team. This is a client-facing role with a 70% project and contract administration bias, offering exposure to a wide range of refurbishment, maintenance and remedial schemes.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead and manage refurbishment, maintenance and remedial projects from inception to completion
- Act as Contract Administrator and/or Employer’s Agent under JCT contracts
- Undertake building surveys, defect diagnosis and technical reporting
- Prepare specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation
- Provide strategic advice on asset condition, compliance and lifecycle planning
- Manage client relationships and deliver clear, high-quality reporting
- Support and mentor junior surveyors and APC candidates
- Work across a diverse portfolio including education, public sector and retail assets
Candidate Requirements
- MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor (or close to achieving)
- Proven experience within a consultancy environment
- Strong experience in contract administration and project delivery
- Good technical knowledge of building pathology and construction
- Experience working across commercial, education or public sector projects
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
- Experience mentoring junior team members is desirable
