Eligo Recruitment are representing a growing service-led engineering business within the Electronic Fire & Security sector, seeking an experienced Business Operations Manager to oversee and coordinate the internal operational functions of the company.
This is a key leadership position within the business, working closely alongside the Operations Director and wider support team, effectively operating as the internal “Number 2” from an office operations and business support perspective.
Importantly, this role is NOT focused on field engineering management or site delivery. The Operations Director retains responsibility for engineers, installations and field operations.
Instead, this role is centred around running the internal operational engine of the business – coordinating workflow, supporting service operations, overseeing administration and ensuring the office and support functions run efficiently day-to-day.
We are specifically looking for individuals who come from a service-led engineering environment where coordinating engineers, reactive works, planned maintenance and operational workflow has been a core part of their role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scheduling and coordinating engineers and service delivery activity
- Managing day-to-day office operations and workflow
- Overseeing quotations, proposals and quote follow-up
- Customer communication and service support
- Supporting HR administration and coordination
- Finance oversight, reporting and operational administration
- Team coordination, delegation and support
- Process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
- Supporting reactive maintenance and planned service workflows
- Ensuring smooth communication between customers, engineers and support teams
The Ideal Candidate:
This role would suit someone who is operationally hands-on, highly organised and comfortable working within a fast-paced SME engineering business where priorities can change quickly.

This is NOT suited to candidates from purely manufacturing, retail, logistics or non-service operational backgrounds.
